SFI Academy graduates, equips NIN registration agents

The Senator Frank Ibezim Academy has graduated 18 students and certified them as NIN registration agents.

The academy is sponsored by the senator, representing Imo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sir Frank Ibezim.

Participants in the training received startup kits and relevant  training to actualise one of the lawmaker’s desires to improve the lot of his constituency, including to get all Imo North constituents documented and issued National Identification Numbers in the bid to make them eligible for programmes of the Federal Government.

“My partnership with approved Nimco agencies to facilitate this programme was borne from the realisation that most of my constituents were not documented and as a result could not benefit from available Federal Government programmes,” Ibezim explained.

“Also since NIN is now a requirement for JAMB and other external exams registrations for students, I am leading a campaign partnering with the community, schools and churches to ensure that every citizen of my district is captured.

“In furtherance of this, I have equipped my constituency offices in the six (6) local government areas as centers for NIN registration and capturing while taking a step further to empower select youths by setting them up as agents.

“Besides the primary NIN registration function, the units would when fully integrated serve as a portal for SIM card registration and cellphone recharge card sales with the attendant commissions confered to the agents for those services and a set fee for each successful capture by NIMC.”

Many constituents of imo North described the lawmaker’s gesture as  laudable and another opportunity for youths seeking legitimate means of livelihood.

Over 120 youths across the zone are expected to be empowered by the time the exercise is completed.

Sen. Ibezim also promised to continue to explore innovative ways of either securing gainful employment or creating opportunities for our youths.
