Lucky escape: Zamfara police rescue eight kidnap victims

Police operatives in Zamfara  State have successfully secured the unconditional release of eight kidnapped victims in the state.

The victims were reportedly abducted on August 25, 2021, at Kangon Sabuwa in Bungudu Local Government Area of the state and taken to  bandits’ camp in Kungurmi.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkanah, disclosed that the abductees were rescued safely by the police without any financial involvement.

He said: “The abducted victims were medically checked by the medical officials, debriefed by the Police and reunited with their families.”

Elkanah assured the people of Zamfara State that the Command was collaborating with other security agencies on different  strategies that result in the unconditional rescue of other victims.

However, he urged members of the public to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies through intelligence in their bid to restore lasting peace and security in the State.

The police boss also charged the residents to report any suspected movement of any bandit, including the informants, so as to track them before they carryout their heinous acts.
