Imo PDP crumbles as state party chairman, other stalwarts dump party


 

A few days after former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the Imo State chapter Chairman, Chief Charles Ugwu, has equally dumped the party alongside other top members.
In what could be described as mass resignations those that dumped the party included the immediate past deputy governor, Engr Gerald Irona; and Prof Jude Njoku, the former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri and one-time Education Commissioner.
Others are former lawmaker, Ikenga Mayor Eze; former Chief of Staff, Dr. Vin Udokwu; PDP State Youth Leader, Evang Anozie Udenwa; Ikeduru State House of Assembly candidate, Barr Sonny-Unachukwu John and Isiala Mbano State Assembly Candidate, Pius Omah.
Similarly, former Chairman, Aboh Mbaise Local government, High Chief Jonathan Onyeneke; his Ezinihite local government counterpart, Hon. Mrs Gertrude Iroemeh joined Hon Engr Chidi Ugochukwu, Hon Goddy Nwabekee who is the party’s Auditor, Barr Chisom Dominic, Nze Anselm Ikwu, Sir Emeka Amajirionwu, Comr. Patrick Okoro, Sir Ralph Emeka Udeh and Okoronkwo Rex to dump the PDP.

The former commissioners, Engr Sly Enwerem and Hon Chief Nkiruka Ibekwe Esq, as well as Chief Sir Martin Opara (Ikemba), Chief Mrs Ann Njoku, High Chief Angus Okorie and Chief Edward Uzoechila Ezeh also resigned from their membership of the PDP.

Other stalwarts that  dumped the party are the Owerri Zonal Organising Secretary of the PDP, Hon Chief Ben Mere; the zonal secretary, Prince Macdonald Enwerem and Chibuike Paschal Maduike and Hon. Ike Uche.
