COVID-19: Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship holds online meetings

Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI), Agboju Chapter, Zone B, says its programmes now hold online in compliance with the preventive measures against COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chapter President, Isaac Onyenegecha, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday that its weekly programmes started online since government announced the lockdown in Lagos.

He said the chapter commenced online fellowship due to its understanding that the efforts of the Lagos State Government was in line with medical experts’ directives in the fight against the spread of coronavirus in the city.

“We are observing the stay-at-home directive because that is one of the best measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the land.

“Our weekly programmes of Tuesday Fellowship and Thursday Prayer Meetings now hold online through the chapter’s WhatsApp platform group which members participated on schedule,” he said.

Onyenegecha said there was need to suspend the regular Fellowship and resolve to online because at the end of every gathering, members usually hold hands to sing the general FGBMF Anthem after which men hugged men and women hugged women.

According to him, the online programme have gone a long way to help the body maintain social distancing to avoid the spread of the pandemic.

“The only thing missing is that we no longer see ourselves physically to shake hands or hug one another but we sing our anthem and members are equally advised to comply with every preventive measures,” he added.

Onyenegecha urged other chapters across various zones in the country to keep faith in the period, saying that smart phones was an alternative to do the needful and ensure that fellowship was observed.

He added that the platform was also used as a medium to remind members to adhere to hand washing, use of sanitisers in their homes and stay safe.

NAN reports that FGBMFI is a Fellowship with the largest network of Christian businessmen in the world which was founded in 1953 and in over 85 nations; meeting in thousands of chapters across the globe. (NAN)
