Bandits storm Niger school, kill one, abduct several students, staff

One student, identified as Benjamin Doma, was feared killed when gunmen suspected to be  bandits invaded Government Science College in Kagara in Rafi Local government of Niger State. 

They also reportedly abducted several other students, some teachers and their family members residing within the College Staff Quarters before escaping with them.

The apparently pre-planned attack by the invaders, who, it was gathered, were adorned in the school uniform occurred at about 2:00 am on Wednesday.

They shot sporadically, killing one of the students while several others sustained gunshots wounds.

An alumnus of the school and former Senator, representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani who confirmed the attack, said: “Early hours of this morning, Armed bandits stormed the Government Science College Kagara Niger State,my alma mata,and abducted some students and staff family members.I just spoke to the principal.

”The images and video clips of the victims of the kidnapping in Niger state which includes women, children and infants is pure evil and tragic. The confidence and audacity of the heavily armed bandits reflects the tumors the Government must urgently treat in order to save the nation.”
