Buhari gives hint on ministerial list

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly hinted that he might retain some ministers to serve in his new cabinet. President Buhari’s second term in office is expected to begin on Wednesday, May 29.

In a special interview aired on the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), the President said he was considering whether some “would stay” following the submission of their performance report.

The President also promised to be tougher on incompetent officials in the security sector.

“I will find out who is responsible” where they are not efficient, he said.

Meanwhile, All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Akwa Ibom state have reportedly written a protest letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, rejecting the listing of Sen. Godswill Akpabio for ministerial appointment.

The APC leaders, under a group tagged Ibom Integrity & Servant Leadership Culture Initiative, said that such appointment would be an invitation to crisis in the state.
