AIICO Insurance Plc. says it has inaugurated a free Entrepreneurship Development Programme to empower Nigerians with the requisite knowledge and skills to become great entrepreneurs.
In a statement on Monday in Lagos State, Miss Atinuke Jose, Head, Strategic Marketing and Communications Department of the company, said that the gesture was aimed at generating employment, reducing poverty and promoting economic growth.
“As a socially responsible organisation, AIICO seeks to contribute to nation building by empowering Nigerians with the requisite knowledge and skills for entrepreneurship.
“The programme is open to individuals who desire to have the freedom to pursue their own vision, become their own bosses, have flexible lifestyles and potential for alternate sources of income beyond salary,’’ she said.
Jose added that the programme would also go a long way to aid in discovering new business opportunities in the country.
She quoted the Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer of AIICO, Mr. Babatunde Fajemirokun, as urging Nigerians with potential and dreams for entrepreneurship to take advantage of the programme to become viable.
“We want to help them to see opportunities around them and equip them with the knowledge and skill to make the most of it profitably.
“We have the manpower and have made adequate provisions to ensure the continuity of this programme,” Jose quoted Fajemirokun as saying. (NAN)
