Xenophobic attack: APC govt. has failed Nigerians – PDP chieftain

Adams Agbo, Kaduna

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Kaduna State, Chief Felix Takaya, has lent his voice to the ongoing debate over attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa.

Chief FTakaya, a leading member of the PDP in Chikum Local Government Area of the state, while fielding questions from journalists, in Kaduna, said that the fact that Nigerians are now nostalgic of late Abacha and former President Obasanjo’s era on the attack of Nigerians in South Africa, is a clear indication that the APC government has failed.

Chief Takaya said that while other African leaders were proactive in taking decision on the matter, Nigeria’s government is foot-dragging, an indication that it lacks credibility in governance.

The opposition’s front leader in Kaduna also said that the much expected security preached by the APC  prior to the 2015 election has become a fluke as Nigerians at home can’t sleep with their two eyes closed not to talk of  protecting the citizens outside the country. He enjoins the people to be prayerful as a man cannot give what he does not have.

According to Chief Takaya, “The recent six mine-resistance all- terrain vehicles that was allowed entrance into the country, travel many miles before being intercepted in Furore Local Government Area of Adamawa State by the men of 23 Armoured Brigade of Nigeria Army, was disturbing.”

It shameful that citizens cannot travel from Kaduna to the federal capital territory without being kidnapped for ransom under a government that touted itself on  providing securing for the country.

The PDP chieftain further said, “With the forgoing, it is difficult to say if the electorate actually returned the APC to power in the last election.”

The recent revelation by kidnap kingpin Wandume that he received N13 million from the APC to cause disaffection in the 2019 election calls for a serious investigation, but because they are in power, it was swept under the carpet.

The opposition leader said that the only thing Nigerians can do, is to get closer to God as the APC government is only interested in grabbing power but not interested in protection of lives and property of Nigerians.
