Real Madrid’s free fall continues, bundled out of Champions League

By George Aluo
Real Madrid’s poor run this term without their former talisman, Ronaldo, continued Tuesday night as they were bundled out of the UEFA Champions League.
Madrid who have in the last three seasons won the trophy back to back were knocked out a very youthful Ajax Amsterdam side 5-3 on aggregate.
Ajax who suffered a 2-1 home defeat in the first leg were simply on fire at the Santiago Bernabeu winning by 4-1 in a game they dominated from start to finish.
Just like last weekend when Real Madrid put up a shambolic performance in the El Classico against arch rivals, Barcelona, the team simply failed to click as they were out played in every department by Ajax.
In the other round of 16 tie, Tottenham Hotspur courtesy of Harry Kane’s strike secured a 1-0 victory away against Borrusia Dortmund to move into the next round on 4-0 aggregate.
