Over 30 buildings and many farmlands were destroyed in Kaura Namoda town, headquarters of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State in a rainstorm following a heavy downpour in the town, on Saturday.

The rainstorm, which affected areas such as Hayin Mahe Quarters, Low Cost and Shiyar Nafi’u, Sabuwar Kaura, rendered more than 200 persons homeless.
Some residents of the town described the aftermath of the heavy rain as ‘devastating’.
