Plateau graduate in police trouble over arms, ammunition

A graduate in Plateau State is in police net, telling the security agents what he was doing with four locally-fabricated riffles and 40mm ammunition found in his possession.
Mr. Bartholomew Onyeka, the state’s Commissioner of Police in the state, made this known while parading the suspect among others in Jos during a stop-and-search operation on Jos-Pankshin Road.

Onyeka added that in the course of investigation, four locally-fabricated riffles were recovered from the suspect’s house.

Other suspects, according to Onyeka, were arrested over alleged kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery and cult activities, among others.
However, the suspect confessed to manufacturing the riffles for his personal use, saying he is a hunter and needed the guns for his protection in the bush.
