PDP Nat’l Woman Leader, Effah-Attoe is dead

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is in mourning following the sad news of the passing of its National Woman Leader, Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe.
The announcement of her demise was made in a statement issued on Sunday by the Party’s Spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba.
The National Working Committee (NWC) and the entire PDP family are deeply saddened by this loss. Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe was described as one of the best and brightest individuals within the Party and the nation as a whole.

Late Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe Her passing is not only a blow to her family but also a loss to the PDP, the academic community, the people of Cross River State, and indeed the entire nation. Prof. Effah-Attoe was a remarkable figure, excelling in various fields. She was a dedicated teacher, a politician, an author, and a fearless mobiliser who consistently championed the cause of truth, justice, equity, and fairness. Throughout her career, Prof. Effah-Attoe held various positions of influence, serving as Commissioner for Education and later Commissioner for Information and Culture in Cross River State, as a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, and as a member of the Governing Board of several Cross River State and Federal Government Agencies and Programmes.
Additionally, she was a university professor and one of the most decorated scholars in Nigeria. Her extraordinary intellectual capacity for leadership and national service distinguished her in these roles.

As the National Woman Leader of the PDP, she brought an uncommon intellectual aptitude to Party administration, particularly in mobilizing women for greater participation in politics and governance. Her tireless efforts, alongside other PDP leaders, were pivotal in the Party’s mission to rebrand and strengthen itself in preparation for the 2023 general elections, with the aim of rescuing, rebuilding, and redirecting the nation from misrule.
Prof. Effah-Attoe’s passing leaves a significant void within the PDP, but her legacy as a devout Christian, a triumphant leader, and a dedicated servant to the nation and humanity will endure.
The PDP extends its heartfelt condolences to her immediate family, the people of Ikun in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State, the academic community, the Cross River State Chapter of the PDP, and the people of Cross River State.
