As the Lagos State Legislative House is set to inaugurate its 9th assembly this week, indications are that, the current Speaker, Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa is likely to retain his seat for the next four years.
Until the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state waded in, two other formidable contestants had been giving the incumbent Speaker headache because of their political formidability and electoral worth.

The duo is the current Deputy Speaker, Hon Wasiu Eshinlokun Sanni from Lagos Island Constituency 01 and his Shomolu Constituency 02 counterpart, Hon. Lateef Abiru.
Our correspondent gathered from reliable sources that the leadership of the party intervened to forestall probable chaos that may attend the selection processes should the duo be allowed to square it up with Obasa from Agege.
