#NIGERIA DECIDES2023: INEC uploads 90% of election results on IReV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has uploaded 159,509 results from 176, 846 polling locations across the country into its Election Result Viewer (IReV).

This statistic represents 90% of the results from all polling units.

The electronic transmission of results was still in progress at the time of filing this report.

People expected the election results to be uploaded on election day as INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu promised, but that did not happen.

Nonetheless, INEC was chastised for failing to post results to its viewing interface, which resulted in a walkout by some party agents at the National Collation Centre on Monday.

Checks, on Saturday, revealed that the results of all the polling units were yet to be uploaded on INEC website.

According to the Commission, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, won with 8.8 million votes, while main opposition candidates in the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, had 6.9 million and 6.1 million votes respectively.
