Lagos discharges 11 coronavirus patients

The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the release of 11 more patients infected by coronavirus have been tested negative twice to the virus after treatment.


The governor announced this on his Twitter handle @jidesanwoolu on Thursday.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the patients were discharged from the Yaba facility centre where they have been undergoing treatment for the virus for weeks now.

“I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba.

They have fully recovered and have tested negative for #COVID19 and have been allowed to return home to their families,” he tweeted.

Given the statistic of the patients, the governor said they include two females and 9 male patients.

“The patients include two females and nine males. Their results came out negative in two rounds of tests,” he tweeted

The incident commander of the State, thanked the health workers who have been in the frontline of the struggle to revive the souls of the infected and bring end to the spread of the virus as he appealed for continued resilience of the residents to ensure end comes to the spread of the virus.

His tweet: “I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.

“Let me reiterate that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance because of the community infection that we are beginning to see.
“I assure you that at the end, we will hoist a flag of victory with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty.”
