The body of late Nollywood actor, John Odonwodo (a.k.a) Junior Pope, will be laid to rest on May 17, 2024. This was disclosed by an announcement from the late actor’s family.
The family maintained that he would be in his Uwala Abaka, Ukehe hometown, in Nsukka, Igboetiti Local Government Area, Enugu State.
Recall that the 43-year-old actor died alongside four others on April 10 in a boat mishap. The victims were alleged to returning from a movie set when their boat capsized in the River Niger.
According to the funeral announcement signed on behalf of the family, by Divine Odonwodo, the burial arrangements will begin on April 23 with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish, Asaba, Delta State.

Another requiem mass will also be held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A, Enugu, on May 13.
“This will be followed by an evening of tributes/candlelight at Amadeo Event Center, Enugu on May 14.
“On May 16, the wake will be held at his country home, Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukka, Igboetiti, LGA of Enugu State. While the interment will be done immediately after the burial mass at St. Peter’s Parish, Ukehe, on May 17.
The announcer added that “A final thanksgiving mass will be held on Sunday, May 19 at St. Peter’s Parish Ukehe Nsukka, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu State.”
