Presidential Spokesman, Mr Ajuri Ngelale has taken an indefinite leave of absence from his duties to attend to unspecified worsening medical issue at home.
Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said he took the decision after consulting with his family.
News from the Presidential Villa said Ngelale submitted an official memo to the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajamiala, on Friday, informing the presidency of his decision to go off duties.
He, however, did not mention who among his family members is involved in the health issue or the nature of the health crises.
Ngelale, and apart from being the President’s Spokesman, also held the responsibilities of Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chair of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
The President’s Spokesman has, and however, requested understanding and privacy as his family navigates the challenging time.
Ngelale expressed hope of returning to national service once the situation improves.
The leave of absence takes immediate effect, with no specified return date.

Nobody has yet been named to carry out Ngelale’s duties why he stays away.
