Adekunle Sandra, for a long time has been operating a Facebook account claiming to be a Custom agent in charge of auction and recruitment. She has operated several account with different pictures and names.
The Nigerian Xpress had reported how she duped a car buyer of huge amount of money. The spokesman for the Nigerian Custom Services, Saidu Nurudeen, had also exonerated the agency from such illegal activities. He told the reporter that the agency has no Facebook account for auctioning impounded items.
But Nigerians wonder why such account should be allowed to exist without security agents tracking the suspects.

In their latest trick, they have introduced a new whatsapp number “08142954926”. Irrespective of the communication companies having a data base of all their subscribers to curtail fraud, the measure has not yielded desired results.
Some of the current advertisement on the fake account read: “Customs are recruiting new officers now the recruitment form is out. Qualifications needed are BSC, NCE, HND, ND, Diploma, SSCE, etc. Recruitment form and replacement slot is on sale now contact 08116527695”
Another advertisement also noted: “Customs authorized auctioned vehicles for sale at cheaper and affordable prices interested buyers should please contact +2348116527695”.
