As part of its efforts to discover and nurture talented players in their prime, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has signed a partnership agreement with the management of Gidado Football Academy, Ilorin, Kwara State on the areas of development, marketing and promotion of players for scouting purposes.
Signing the agreement on behalf of YSFON, its National Secretary, Patrick Okpavuerhe, who was accompanied by Mallam Usman Abdulrasaq and Alhaji Ahmed Abdullah, stated that the partnership became necessary to give players greater opportunity of achieving their aim of playing football at the highest level. He described Gidado Academy, as a pacesetter in grassroots football development .
“We decided to go into this partnership because we discovered that Gidado Football Academy have a track record of helping young players achieve their full potential in the round leather game and we hope that the partnership will achieve it’s set target.
“It’s also important to state that YSFON being in the vanguard of grassroots sports development is always ready to partner with any organisation that shares our ideals and we will continue to provide the platform through which players are discovered through our numerous age grade competitions.
In their separate remarks, General Manager of the Academy, Alhaji Funsho Mohammed, and the club secretary, Olatubosun Abayomi, said they decided to partner with YSFON because of it’s track record in discovering talents which has led to many of the Federation’ s players going ahead to play for the various national teams
“We’re aware that YSFON is a good brand and our association with them will help in putting our football on another pedestal especially in the area of promotion , marketing, development and scouting,” they concluded.
