Abiodun Agbaje, a football enthusiast and Director of New Hall Football Academy in Lekki, Lagos State, on Monday said that the Academy would soon unveil one of the biggest academy-owned stadium in West Africa.
Agbaje, who is the Proprietor of New Hall International School, Lekki, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos state that education was not about reading alone but to develop the psychomotor of children.
He said that the academy would be a centre of excellence in sports, arts and academics.
Agbaje said that one needed to allow the children to participate in physical exercises and do it in a positive way.
“New Hall Football Academy is a model of some of Europe’s biggest club academies. In a few weeks’ time, the Academy will be unveiling probably the biggest academy-owned stadium in West Africa.
“The newly-built 4,500 capacity ultra-modern New Hall School Complex was completed about a month ago and will be commissioned by the Governor of Lagos State.

“Our amiable Governor Akinwunmi Ambode would be here on March 16 to commission the building for the purpose of sports and recreational developments for our wards.
“The complex will house other facilities like a modern clinic and a VIP lounge,’’ he said.
According to Agbaje, the building of the magnificent stadium is my willingness to leave a legacy behind.
“Seriously speaking, this happened based on my intuition, my willingness to leave something behind as a legacy and the story started about 22 years ago.
“Having been very successful in the education sector and in the banking Industry, I think it will be a good thing to add my quota to sports.
“I am building a stadium of this kind in Lekki, not something you think you will want to make money from.
“I am just giving back to the society so that youths will have the opportunity to be able to sit, play and enjoy themselves in a facility that can be compare with the best in the world,’’ Agbaje said.
