Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has called on individuals and corporate bodies to invest in schools’ sports in other to build better tomorrow as College of commerce, Warri emerges winner of the fourth edition of Zenith Bank Delta Principals’ Cup.
The Governor made this known at the final of the fourth edition of ‘Delta Principals’ Cup’ held at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, saying, “we have been keeping hope alive with the sponsor, Zenith Bank, while urging individuals, corporate bodies to sponsor the Headmaster Cup and schools athletics.”
College of Commerce, Warri, pipped Zappa mixed Secondary School, Asaba 2 – 1 to lift the 2019 Zennith Bank/ Delta Principal Cup, at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State capital.

Earlier, Destiny Secondary School, Ughelli clinched the third position after defeating Okotic Eboh Grammar school, Sapele by 3 goals to nil in a one sided match completely dominated by the Ughelli boys.
In the final, Ime Ekemini got the curtain raiser in the 63rd minute of the keenly-contested match while the second goal followed shortly by same player to give his school N1millon cash with 18-seater bus.
Zappa Mixed Secondary School however got a consolation goal in the 85 minute through the spot kick which the referee awarded as a result of an infringement on Zappa player in the 18-yard box.
Incidentally, Ime Ekemini emerged the highest goal scorer of the tournament with total of eight goals as well as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
College of commerce, Warri went home with 18- seater bus, N1m cash as the champions, while first runner up, Zappa mixed Secondary School; Asaba received N750,000, Destiny Secondary School, Ughelli got N500,000 and the fourth place, Okotic Eboh Grammar, Sapele was consoled with N100,000.
