Immensely talented Brazilian international, Neymar has declared that he is itching to play again with his former Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi insisting that he expresses himself better when he combines with the petit Argentine.
Two seasons back, PSG bought Neymar and several other top stars, all in a bid to win the UEFA champions league. The star-studded Paris club has however not been able to achieve the feat of ruling Europe.
The last term, PSG got very close but lost in the final to Bayern in a game which ended 1-0. Neymar after the final match decided in Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, wept like a baby.
This year PSG are on the march again. Midweek, they made mincemeat of Manchester United beat the premier league giants by 3-1 to go top of their group.
Moments after the victory in which Neymar scored a brace, the Brazilian confessed that playing again with Messi is the only thing that would give him joy and bring the best out of him, even as he tasked PSG to ensure they capture Messi at all costs when his Barcelona contract runs out next summer.
“What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch. He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season,” were Neymar’s words.
It would be noted that PSG is on the list of clubs monitoring and keeping a tab on Messi.
Messi’s current deal at Barcelona is due to expire next summer and he is still yet to agree on fresh terms.
Interest in the six-time Ballon d’Or winner is naturally high, with Manchester City monitoring his situation after tracking him during the most recent transfer window.
Inter Milan are also chasing the 33-year-old, who would be available for free from July.
A move to PSG would see Messi reunited with Neymar, with whom he formed a lethal partnership at Barca from 2013 to 2017.
