The secretary made the disclosure at the third edition of the event being organised by the federation and the Japanese Volleyball Federation.

“It is a one-day event where five volleyball Academics in FCT will feature in the programme, the scholarship is given to one or two volleyball students who will meet the criteria.

They will be in Japanese schools on full scholarship for three years in Japanese High School.

The   criteria are: those who have been playing volleyball, the Attackers, the players must be above 2 metres in height without putting on shoes.

He  must have highest jump reaching point above 3 metres with one step run up, preferably a Christian and not based on religious discrimination, in reality and from our experience, it is more difficult for a Muslim to adjust to  Japanese life.

He must familiarise with collective behaviour, he must like studying, he must be 16 years old from April 2, 2019 and April 1, 2020 but one year older is still acceptable,” he said.

Melano listed the Academies as Rubicon Volleyball Academy in Karu, Junior Defenders Volleyball in Mogadishu Cantonment, Junior Scorpion Volleyball in Mambila Barack, Junior NY Volleyball in Yanyan and Junior Brave Volleyball in Jikoyi. (NAN)
