Lagos Students’ death: Parents besiege school for their wards.

Parents of students of Ojodu Government schools were a hit and run driver yesterday who killed several students at the school bus stop this morning besieged the schools demanding the release of their wards.

Many of the students had turned up this morning for the continuation of their exams which were disrupted yesterday following the ghastly accident that claimed the lives of some students.

But their parents are not in a mood for school now and are demanding that the school release their wards to them. Some Lagos State Government officials were seen in the school this morning. After addressing the restive parents, they ordered that the students be released to their parents.

It is not yet certain whether the government would temporarily shut down the school to allow tempers to calm down. One of the parents told The Nigerian Xpress that he is still looking for his daughter and does not know whether she was killed in the accident or not.

Some of the distraught parents were this morning asking that the schools in the four school complex be officially closed down to allow them to mourn their dead children.

A hit and run truck driver yesterday rammed into students of Babs Fafunwa Millennium Senior Secondary School, Babs Fafunwa Senior Grammar School, Ojodu Junior High School and Ojodu Government Grammar school killing some of the students.

Parents and old students of the schools were this morning wailing uncontrollably over the death of the students. No official statement has been released by either the Lagos State Government or the affected schools.

The Nigerian Express earlier reported that the management of Musbaudeen Al Islamy Arabic School, Ganmo in Ifelodun LGA, Kwara state has justified the brutal flogging of some students of the school, according to TheCable.

Vdeo footage showing some students of the Islamic school being subjected to intense flogging had earlier surfaced online.

The students were said to have attended a birthday party and reportedly took alcohol during the outing.
