Governor Nyesom Wike ,of Rivers State has revisited the tenure of his predecessor and now  Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, and claimed that  the former governor  sold the state’s patrimony, including gas turbines and Olympia Hotel as well as transfered $50 million out of the Rivers State’s account during his tenure that terminated in 2019.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral in Port Harcourt on Sunday, Wike also accused an All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in the state, Tonye Cole, of being Amaechi’s business partner, adding that Cole was being packaged to take over from him as  governor of the state as a means of turning Rivers into Amaechi’s personal property.
Wike said: “You (Amaechi) think you can sell this state? The former governor thinks that he can bring his business partner, after you have sold all our gas turbines, Olympia Hotel, collected our $50 million cash.

“And I asked them what is the job you people did for Rivers State? Can I see the contract paper, did you people loan us money?”
