Troops repel attack in Kaduna, kill five terrorists

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, has disclosed that troops successfully repelled an attack on Kwanan Bataro, Giwa Local Government Area of the state, killing five terrorists.

In a statement, Aruwan explained that the troops were conducting clearance patrols in the local government area when they received intelligence report that terrorists were moving towards Fatika town and responded accordingly.

The statement said the outlaws tried to evade the approaching forces but were blocked by the troops, who engaged them in a firefight during which five of the terrorists were killed before returning to base.

It added that the state governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i, was satisfied with the operation and lauded the troops for their gallantry and prompt action on the intelligence received.

He urged them to intensify the ongoing offensives against the terrorists in the area.
