Ruby House rules CEDEC sports meet

Ruby house has emerged the winner of the biennial CEDEC International Schools inter house sports competition which took place yesterday inside the main bowl of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Ruby winners of the last edition scored 80 points to beat other houses in the keenly contested sports meet which was graced by parents and teachers of the Apapa and Lekki based International schools.
Speaking before the start of the competition, Proprietress of the School Dr ( Mrs) Ijeoma Unachukwu tasked the students to be disciplined in all their endeavors as hard work and discipline are the hallmarks of the school.
She noted that sports is important in the total development of a child, hence the school pays high premium to inter house sports meet.
“I m positive that today promises to be an exhilarating experience that would endeavor for a long time in our memories,” Unachukwu stated.
In the match past competition that preceded the sporting events, Ruby House also emerged first, while Diamond and Gold Houses came second and third respectively.But the most organized and behaved House award went to Diamond House with a trophy to the bargain.
Some parents in their remarks were full of praise for the school for taking the event to the National Stadium which they considered a befitting venue. Mrs Oby Chukwuemeka Mbabie said it was a wonderful event.
“I feel fulfilled. The school did a good job. I m impressed,” were her words.
Kenneth Okpaise on his part said it is quite interesting seeing children competing at this level.
“It is quite interesting seeing kids competing in sports and seeing them exhibiting good attributes in sports.”
Aliu Nda also commended the school for organizing a befitting inter house sports. He was however also quick to point out that it was his first time of being part of the school’s inter house sports meeting, declaring that he was leaving the venue satisfied.
