The PSC board, at their 13th plenary meeting, frowned at the former IGP’s move, saying Dauda wrote to the Commission to promote him to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
The Commissioner, representing the South-South Zone in the Commission, Austin Braimo, while addressing journalists, in Abuja, after the meeting also announced the promotion of two Assistant Inspectors-General of Police to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police.
Six Commissioners of Police were also promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police.
“We want to ensure that justice is done. That is what the board has done. We took the decision so that it will act as a deterrent. The board has taken a decision and the decision will be communicated to the IGP,” Braimo said.
