The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee on Saturday gave kudos to the Ebonyi State Chapter of the party over peaceful conduct of last Saturday Ward Congress election held across the 171 electoral wards in the State.
The Chairperson of the Supervisory team from PDP NWC Abuja in charge of Ebonyi State, Mrs. Chinyere Mba made the commendation in Abakaliki after supervising the conduct of the exercise in the state .
She expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of the congresses across the State for the election of Ward executive that would pilot the affairs of the party in the next four years.
“We came from the PDP National Working Committee to supervise what Ebonyi State Chapter was doing, we are here to oversee what they have done, they had a peaceful and credible election.”

“Since last Friday we arrived the State , we have distributed our electoral materials, PDP is one family, we believe in Due Process and Rule of Law in accordance with Electoral Guidelines”
Earlier in his speech, the State Chairman of PDP Barrister Onyekachi Nwaebonyi said that the party adopted the “Open Ballot System ” in the election of candidates during the ward congresses.
Barr. Nwaebonyi restated that the Ward congress across the state was purely for the purposes of electing new executives that will pilot the affairs of the party in the various wards for the next four years.
“The congress was free and fair, it was thrown open, members of the party who were qualified contested for the election”
He attributed the peaceful conduct of the congresses in the state to the decorum exhibited by party members .
“PDP in Ebonyi State is one family, we are an organised party, before now we had our State Executive Council meeting where we agreed on our modus operandi,
The Party boss noted that the party put in adequate measures that guaranteed peaceful conduct of the congresses by engaging the services of all the security agencies in the state.
