The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a popular Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James alias Baba Ijesha, for allegedly defiling a minor.
According to the Lagos police spokesman, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, a case of defilement was reported a few days ago by one Princess Adekola Adekanya at Sabo Police Station and the case was transferred to the Gender Unit of the State CID, Panti, Yaba Lagos for proper investigation.
He said that based on preliminary findings, the forty-eight years old suspect had been sexually assaulting the fourteen years old victim since she was seven years old.
He said that the suspect had confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for proper investigation and promised to ensure justice in the matter.
