Imo guber: Achonu child of destiny, on mission to rebuild state -Acho Nwaokorie, community leader

A leading community leader in Imo State, Nze Venatius Acho Nwaokorie, has thrown his weight behind the governorship aspiration of Senator Athan Nneji Achonu, the Labour Party candidate for the November 11 gubernatorial election in Imo State.
Describing Achonu as a child of destiny, Nwaokorie, a notable industrialist and farmer, posited that Achonu “is on a mission and by the time he is done, Imo State will bounce back to its lost glory.
“Here is a man who is at home anywhere any day and a thorough grassroot person.”
He pointed out that A honu believes strongly in charity beginning at home, which made him to award most of the subcontracts of the multi-billion naira contract he won from the Federal Government to build and equip Primary Health Centers all over Nigeria to people of Imo extraction.
“Also, his Numo Farms at Umuobo Umunumo is a living example of his aku ruo ulo mantra. The farm is a typical replica of the one in Kuje, Abuja,” Nwaokorie adder.
“His ingeniuty is going to benefit Imolites. Power generation will be a thing of the past with our numerous gas reserves at Ohaji Egbema axis. Agriculture will take center stage with his pilot farm as a reference point.”
Nwaokorie highlighted some of the exploits of Achonu in farming, which he is certain to replicate in Imo when elected governor on next Saturday.
According to him: “The Numo Farms is the largest investment on agro business int the whole of South-east. Imagine over 100 greenhouses to produce lettuce, green pepper, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, etc.
“The ranch, modelled after the Dutch, has our local ehi Igbo, and local goats free range.
“The artificial ponds can accommodate six million fishes in cycles per year.
“The snailary is world-class.
“The Feedmill will produce up to 500 tons at full capacity.
“The laboratories are of international standard to carry out quality analysis and routine diagnostics for the fishes and animals. The lab has state of the art equipment.”
Nwaokorie urged Okigwe Zone in particular where the LP candidate hails from, to give give bloc votes, dismissing one of the Okigwe proponents of a distorted Charter of Equity in Imo and accused him of siting his own feedmill outside the zone at far away Ngor Okpalla, adding that he has not even taken off despite the best egg heads surrounding him.
On Achonu, Nwaokorie continued and disclosed that one of the plans of the trail blazing candidate is to set up a fertilizer plant, saying the only major ingredients for making fertizer are all freely available in Ohaji Egbemma.
He urged Nsu people in Ehime Mbano, Achonu’s maternal uncles, to give One -Arm General, as Achonu is fondly called, 100% of their votes because “he is Nsu by blood; he is Nsu by neighbour; he is Nsu by friendship and we have benefited more than other communities. Go and verify.”
Analysts have ranked Achonu well ahead of other contestants in the race to Douglas House, especially because of his heavy investments in the state. No other candidate has a single investment in the state and neither have they laid out any cogent plan on how to take the state forward.
According to Nwokoro Lex, a resident in Owerri, the state capital, “if not for politics, Achonu would just stroll into the Government House after the Saturday voting. It is evident before all discerning people that in terms of ideas and antecedents, Achonu has no rival. Unfortunately, Governor Hope Uzodimma would not give up without a fight, and he will not fight fair.
“Achonu in particular must strategise well to abort every rigging plan and the Federal Government must ensure that its agents in the election, whether in the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, or security operatives are not compromised,” he added.
