A Police dog is still alive today after emergency surgery for a tumour and a blood transfusion from a canine colleague, Police in Nuremberg, Germany, reported on Thursday.
The patient, Ivo, needed the transfusion after heavy bleeding developed.

The veterinary clinic did not have enough blood on hand and sent out a call for help to local dog owners.
Several responded, but Kira, another Police dog, was the first there.
The transfusion occurred on January 24.
Police say it will be a little while before Ivo is up on all fours legs again. (NAN)
