Gen. Okoro visits 3 Brigade, commissions projects

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Maj.-Gen. Valentine Okoro has paid a maiden operational/familiarisation visit to Headquarters 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Bukavu Barracks, Kano State.


On arrival, the GOC commissioned the remodelled Headquarters 3 Brigade Quarter Guard and thereafter proceeded to commission 2 blocks of 6 bedroom family flats and one block of 10 flats all for officers of the brigade. Thereafter, the GOC was briefed on activities of Brigade.

In his remarks after the briefing, the GOC applauded the Brigade for its efforts in denying criminal elements access to its Area of Responsibility.

He charged the Brigade Commander to sustain the tempo in order for the good people of the State to continue to enjoy relative peace. He commended the commander for giving the barracks a facelift and also applauded his efforts in improving the formation lift and mobility capacity.
The GOC charged personnel to be professional in their conduct and to desist from habits and practices that could tarnish the image and reputation of the NA. He urged them to be security conscious and ensure the protection of live and property of the citizenry.

In his remarks, the Commander 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig Gen Jamiu Are thanked the GOC for finding time out of his busy schedules to visit the Brigade. He assured the GOC of the unalloyed commitment of officers and soldiers of the Brigade in support of the Division.


The GOC was accompanied on the visit by Commander 1 Provost Group, Brigadier General AH Ibrahim, Acting Commander 1 Military Intelligence Brigade Lt.-Col. JG Kwelle, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 1 Division Lt Colonel MA Yahaya and Capt. O. Nwakoma.
