Engage SA Govt urgently to end attacks on Nigerians, Group urges FG

A civil society organisation, Nigerians Unite Against Terror (NUAT), on Tuesday urged the Federal Government to engage South African Government to end the reign of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

Its Convener, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, also urged the international community to rise up and stem the tide of the barbaric occurrences in South Africa where Nigerians were being treated with much disdain and cruelty.

“We have watched the video clips of such heinous acts with shattered hearts. We can no longer sit down and fold our hands.

“We must act fast to forestall reccurrence of such evil and to restore the dignity of the human person everywhere on the globe.

“We strongly believe that government of the affected countries can find a quick and lasting solution to such untold hardship and loss of lives meted on our brothers and sisters in South Africa.

“It is the primary responsibility of a responsible and responsive government to ensure protection of life and property.

“Therefore, we demand an immediate engagement with South African Government to end the reign of madness,” Okei-Odumakin said in a statement. (NAN)
