Recall that similar protests had rocked other cities like Kano, Minna, Lagos, etc.

The protesters, who stormed the Mokola area of Ibadan bore placards, bearing various inscriptions, such as: ‘No more Emilokan’, ‘End food hike and inflation’, ‘The poor is starving’, ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises’, etc.

Although the police had warned against any breach of peace, armed policemen could be seen at the scene of the peaceful protest against the economic hardship in the land, which was fueled by the removal of fuel subsidy and naira devaluation.
