Don’t be complacent, you must raise the bar, Sanwo-Olu tells new officials

Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Thursday, admonished newly-sworn-in Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs. Folashade Jaji, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Tayo Ayinde and six new Permanent Secretaries, to avoid complacency, adding Lagosians expect world class service delivery from them.

At the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu told the new officers that the state public service was adjudged the best in West Africa and as such demands full commitment from the new officers.

While addressing the new Permanent Secretaries, the governor said their appointment was as a result of their track record in public service, adding they could not afford to fail Lagosians.

“We will do our best to ensure the engine of the state keep rolling. You must not be complacent. there is high level of expectation from Lagosians.

“We must sharpen our skills to deliver on promises to Lagosians. I want to see standard raised.

“We must continue to raise the bar. We must remember Lagosians are expecting a lot from us,” he admonished.

The governor further promised to run an inclusive government saying “we should be receptive to new ideas. That’s what I am doing and that’s what I expect from you.”

The new Permanent Secretaries are Former Medical Director, Alimosho General Hospital, Dr. Eniayewun Ademuyiwa Benjamin, Erinle Olumide Olufolami, Mrs. Oludara Oyebisi Okelola, Wasiu Adedamola Akeusola, Mrs. Yewande Olamide Fadugba and Mustapha Abiodun Osiefa.

The governor said the new Permanent Secretaries would be deployed to ministries where their expertise are needed.

He also promised to address the issue of minimum wage in coming weeks.
