Cristiano Ronaldo ditches Man City for Man United, set to rejoin old club

Thanks to former Manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, all talks about Cristiano Ronaldo joining Manchester City may have collapsed.

Manchester Evening News has reported that the legendary Ferguson had convinced Ronaldo to return to the club where he had previously spent six years in the course of his career.

Ferguson had first brought Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford, as a teenager.

The Portugal captain had blossomed under the Scot and won three Premier League titles and the Champions League before leaving for Real Madrid and later Juventus.

There had been speculations that the 36-year-old would sign for United’s rivals Manchester City this weekend but not until a telephone conversation discussion with Ferguson, which has reportedly scuttled the move.

Barring any changes, Ronaldo will now be returning to the club where he won his first Ballon d’Or prize.
