CCC carpets Pastor Ibiyeomie over ‘derisive’ outburst

The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) has taken a swipe at the founder of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, over what it called ‘unsavoury and damaging comments’ against the church.
Expressing its displeasure, the Celestial Church, through a statement by its Head, Media and Publicity, Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala, said that it was unfortunate that a man of God and Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ would stand on a pulpit and face his congregation to denigrate and deride the entire image of another denomination in the body of Christ.
Recall that Ibiyeomie had in a viral video expressed fierce disdain for white garment churches, accusing prophets of the Celestial Church of manipulating destinies with incantations and Kaikai (local gin). He said, “Do you know why I hate white garment churches?

Ibiyeomie had said, ‘People don’t know why I hate them. If you know what they do you will never like them.
‘They can take your own surname and put it in a bottle of gin and make incantations. As they are doing that, that’s how the boy will be drinking.
‘Ask these ‘cele’ prophets, they will take someone’s name and put inside Kaikai and then read all those demonic psalms and the boy will look at them and say ‘Give me a bottle of Schnapps’. The boy was not drinking before.’
But Ajala said there was obviously an error of judgment in Pastor Ibiyeomie’s outburst because “it is not logical to move from citing a singular example of anything and then proceed illogically to conclude that what one unit is guilty of, if so, is representative of an entire church.”

He added that what Pastor Ibiyeomie has done publicly with his viral video “is nothing short of cyber-bullying which is a crime, but we would refrain from treating it as such for now.”
The church warned that it may be compelled to hand over the Port Harcourt-based pastor to the law enforcement authorities for the crime of cyber bullying should his attack on the church continue.
“It is very clear that Pastor David Ibiyeomie does not know the Celestial Church of Christ. We would, therefore, give the benefit of doubt that he probably saw somebody like that in a white apparel and mistook such a person as belonging to the Celestial Church of Christ.
“There is nothing in the liturgy of our great church that commands or instructs or permits anyone to bring such a fetish item as a bottle filled with alcoholic drink, and with a name in it, into the presence of the Lord pretending to be praying to the same God,” the church explained.
