Finally, Finidi George emerges as Super Eagles coach
At last, the Board of Nigeria Football Federation on Monday approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Committee and appointed Finidi George as Head Coach of the Super Eagles.
George had worked as assistant coach to José Santos Peseiro before the Portuguese left, following the expiration of his contract.
Under their watch, the post Super Eagles emerged runner-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations position held in Cote d’Ivoire.
Thereafter George took charge of the squad in interim capacity during two friendly matches in Morocco last month where the team beat Ghana 2-1 but lost 0-2 to Mali in the second game.
