Bouncer stabs teenager to death at wedding reception

There was pandemonium at popular Wetland Hotel, in the Mofor area, of Orhowhorun town, in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State when a bouncer providing security for a newly-wedded couple stabbed a teenage boy to death.

It was gathered that the sad incident occurred, on Saturday afternoon, during a reception for the newlywed.

The deceased teenager, identified as Oghenemaro Eriana, was said to be a neighbour to the groom at their Kolokolo residence of Enerhen, Uvwie locality.

The incident brought the party to a halt as sympathisers made frantic efforts to save the life of the deceased.

Sources said the deceased teenager trying to assist the newlywed to pick up money sprayed them when the unfortunate incident happened leaving the couple and guest to burst into tears.

It was also gathered that the bouncer, identified as Francis Utuedor, had thought the victim was trying to steal the celebrants’ money when he stabbed him in the process.

It was also gathered that the deceased had gone to the party with his mother, whom, two months ago, lost another of her son.

Meanwhile, the state’s Police Command, through its spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the development. He said that the suspect had been arrested as at time of filing this report.
