Arik Air donates relief materials to Yola IDPs

Arik Air on Monday disclosed that it donated relief items to Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yola, Adamawa state, in the spirit of the Christmas Season.
Mr Ola Olabanji, the airline’s Communication Manager, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Lagos on Monday.
Olabanji stated that the gesture was to enable the IDPs to enjoy the festivity.
He stated that the items, which were donated on Sunday, included bags of rice and beans, cartons of indomie noodles, bedsheets, tins of peak milk and Milo, clothing, treated insecticide nets, among other.

He said that the items were presented on behalf of the airline by Andrew Odion, Head Marketing, Central West Africa, Bako Abubakar, Yola Station Manager and some other staff members in Yola.
Olabanji said that the items were received by some of the camp officials, including Lawal Waida, Camp Chairman, Fatima Hassan, Camp Women Leader, Peter Paul, Camp Manager and Adam Agalade, Camp Youth Leader.
In a speech, Hassan said that they were elated by the airline’s gesture and described the company as caring.
She said that in spite of the challenging situation in the country, the airline still deemed it fit to touch lives of the needy.
Also, the camp manager implored the airline team to extend their appreciation to the management of the airline.
They prayed for the airline to continue to prosper and appealed to other airlines in Nigeria to emulate the good works of Arik Air.
They assured the team that the items would be judiciously used for the benefits of all the displaced persons. (NAN)
