In preparation for 2023 elections’ year, Senatorial aspirants to the senate from Ogun Stae West Senatorial District are already showcasing their credentials with a view to convincing the electorate that they are supposed to be their choice as the most eminently qualified for the senatorial seat.
In that Ogun West, not a few aspirants want to occupy the seat going by its tendency to break the governorship jinx that has been the portion of the district since the creation of the state. It is on record that, since Ogun State was born, no governor has been produced from the axis. And the aspiration to become the first Ogun State governor from that zone has fuelled the belief that, the consideration towards 2027 would be premised around the most experienced and most eminently qualified aspirant.

It is on that note that a friend of Rt. Honourable Akinlade Isiaq Abiodun leaked his credentials that look every bit intimidating to The Nigerian Xpress. The aspirant, who is now a Commissioner with the Federal Character Commission representing Ogun State since 2020 has been in the House of Representatives, Abuja for 12 years spanning three terms from 2002 to 2015.
To prove that he was never a bench warmer at the National Assembly, the document stated that the 55 year old Legislative Expert was several times in charge of one committee or the other pointing out that, for him, there was no dull moment throughout the 12 years of his legislative experience.

He was born on March 21, 1967 at Owode, Yewa Local Government of Ogun State. He is married with children. A reliable source close to him, said he is the Baba Adini of Yewa Land and a philanthropist extraordinaire who has assisted a lot of people and empowered students with scholarship awards mong other assistance to humanity.
He holds MBA Citificate from Ado Ekiti University and Republic2012PhD in Management (Honorary), from Université des Sciencies Appliquées Et Du Management, Port Novo, Benin Republic, 2012.
As a grassroots man to the core, Akinlade won elections to the National Assembly three times on the tickets of both the Peoples Democratic Party and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). He is currently with the Action Congress of Nigeria (APC).
Other likely aspirants to slug it out with Akinlade are former PDP governorship candidate, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka (GNI), and the incumbent occupier of the seat, Senator Tolu Odebiyi and perhaps, Senator Adeola Solomon (Yayi), currently representing Lagos West in the Senate if he eventually makes good his intention to relocate to his state of origin.
