2023 Presidency: Remi Tinubu steps down from Senate, nominates Wasiu Eshinlokun as replacement

The Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu may have had it full with the Upper Chamber as it appears she would not be returning to the National Assembly in 2023.

It is believed that her decision to step down from the Senate was in order to mobilise support for her husband, who is a presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who has signified his interest to run for the presidency in 2023 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was further gathered that Sen. Tinubu has nominated the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni, the as her replacement in the Red Chamber.

Recall that Sen. Tinubu has been in Senate since 2011.
