Why we embarked on major organisational restructuring, by NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has clarified that contrary to media reports, recently, no member of its staff was sacked in the course of the recent reshuffling in the corporation.

According to the Group General Manager in charge of NNPC’s Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughammadu, he urged Nigerians to dismiss rumours that the organisation had relieved some of its staff members of their duties. He said that is unreal.

In a statement signed by Ughammadu, the exercise involved the statutory retirement of 11 NNPC senior management staff as well as the redeployment of 19 others. He stressed that such replacements are always effected by the NNPC before the final exit of retiring staff members.

Furthermore, Ughamadu explained that these changes are often made in order to ensure uninterrupted operations of the NNPC as it works towards the actualisation of its mandate and objectives.

More so, the redeployment was carried out in order to replace its staff members that would be going on retirement soon.

Below is the list of staff members on statutory retirement between May 1 and July 31, 2019:
