Why we began Easter Funfair in Ibadan-Adelakun

Temitope Adelakun, the convener of the  Easter Funfair in Ibadan, on Tuesday said the initiative was based on the vision to create an avenue for children to bond together and explore their creativity.

Adelakun told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan that children could learn while having fun.
“This learning  helps build memories that kids can carry throughout their lives.
“The bigger picture is to have a kind of club where kids can come together and explore their creativity, but it starts with this Easter funfair,” she said.

She added that the funfair would give children a chance to explore the benefits of teaming up with great minds.
” This happens in high end schools, but those in middle-low class may not experience this.
“Our club then will aim to bridge the gap between these two groups and help synergise and harness brilliance amongst the kids.
“But it’s basically to give children the real definition of fun and also help build a memory that influences creativity which we hope  will stay with them till adulthood,” she said.
Adelakun further said that this was the first time such event was being held for children.
“I need to add that there is a kind of lifestyle I’d love my kids to have but which I may not be able to afford as an average class citizen.
“I know there are many people in this category, and so we would like to create this club to give this opportunity in an affordable way.
” A lot has been put in place to ensure that the kids have as much fun as possible,” she said.
