We’ve 41 PhD lecturers, rated 8th best Polytechnic in Nigeria‎, says Offa Poly Rector

The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State, now has 41 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) holders on its teaching roll while other upcoming ones are winding up their programmes in various Universities.

Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Lateef Olatunji, made this known at the 75th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Registrars of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technologies in Nigeria (COREG), hosted by the Offa Polytechnic.

Olatunji, who was represented by  his deputy, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi, ‎while declaring the conference open, also disclosed that the institution has been rated 8th best among Polytechnics in Nigeria by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Chief Oseloka Zikora, charged the meeting to come up with a solid resolutions aimed at giving polytechnic administration in Nigeria a new approach that would ensure super lifting.

He stressed the importance of Registrars in higher institutions which must be directed at an all round success of the staff, students and good atmosphere for learning through sound administrations and physical developments.

Zikora disclosed a harmonious working relationship with principal of the institution which had a steady progress in both academic and other programmes of the institution.

In his welcome address, Registrar of the Institution, Alhaji Abduihamid Raji, expressed hope that the Registrar’s Conference would be another opportunity for stakeholders to “come together, take stock, compare notes, explore opportunities and formulate new strategies to further develop the polytechnic sub-sector.

Registrars from about 40 Polytecnics and Colleges of Technology from all geo-political zones in the country were participants at the conference.
