We’re ready for work, Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat assure Lagos workers

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, paid a thankyou and surprise official working visit to four Ministries at Alausa Secretariat, barely twenty four hours after his Inauguration for second term in office.

The governor the visit was aimed at encouraging the staff and to show Lagosians that his administration was ready for work adding that after the visit, a strategic meeting would be held with the board of Permanent Secretaries.

He further said the essence of the visit was to have an on-the-spot assessment of the ministries that fit into the game plan of the administration and citizens driven policies for the next four years through the THEMES agenda.

The Ministries visited were the Lagos State Civil Commission, Ministries of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA, Economic Planning and Budget as well as Youth and Social Development.

The governor was accompanied on the working visit by his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Board of Permanent Secretaries and Directors of Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Reacting to the sudden fuel scarcity in the country, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu urged Lagosians to remain calm in the face of the fuel crisis.

He said that the fuel queues were caused by the unfair attitude of marketers who took undue advantage of the pronouncement on the removal of fuel subsidy on the populace.
He, however, assured that the Federal Government was committed to proactively address the issue of fuel scarcity in the country.
