We value good neighbourliness, Buhari tells outgoing Equatorial Guinea Ambassador

President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria will always value good neighbourliness, cooperate with her neighbours and lend helping hand when necessary.

The President’s remarks are in a statement by Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity on Friday in Abuja.

Adesina stated that the president made the remarks when he received the outgoing Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Job Obiang Esono Mbengono, at a farewell audience in State House, Abuja, on Friday.

According  to him, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have always identified with each other and will continue to maintain good neighbourliness.

President Buhari said he was happy that the outgoing ambassador, who spent nine years in the country, “settled and understood our people and culture quite well.”

Amb. Mbengono said Nigeria made great impact on his life, as he learnt a lot “about this big and important country,” describing
Nigerians as friendly and warm people.

While congratulating President Buhari on his re-election in the 2019 general elections, Mbengono said: “Nigeria is in good hands, and we are happy.”

The ambassador also conveyed the best wishes of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo to the Nigerian leader. (NAN)
