Wale Oke lauds Gov. Makinde over Chaplain’s choice

Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan, Oyo State, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde on the appointment of Pastor Layi Solomon Adisa as the new Chaplain of the state’s Government House.

Governor Makinde had, last week, announced Pastor Adisa, an Horticulturist at the University Teaching Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, who is also a pastor at the Christ Life Church, in the state capital, as the new Chaplain of the Government House with Pastor Emmanuel Folayemi Akanmu as the Deputy Chaplain.

Wale Oke, who stated this in his congratulatory message to the appointees, thanked the governor for the appointments which he described as being “worthwhile”.

According to a statement issued by his Media Office, the renowned cleric implored the Chaplain to shun materialism and vices that could derail his spiritual calling, advising him to be more spiritually filled and focused so as to assist the governor in his course of governing the state.

The new Chaplain, with pastoral experience of over 21 years, is a holder of Msc in Soil Science from University of Ibadan and PhD in Church Growth from International College of Ministry, an affiliate of Ames Christian University, Florida, USA and had served in various cadres at Christ Life Church where he rose to the post of Diocesan Mission Director before his new appointment.

Meanwhile, the Bishop has reiterated the need for the appointees to prove their mettle by being good ambassadors of Jesus Christ in their new duty calls.
