Vote credible candidate instead of party — gov’ship candidate

Dr. Samuel Audu-Alfa, a governorship aspirant in Kogi, has advised the electorate in the state to vote on candidates’ ability to deliver rather than political parties.

Audu-Alfa, contesting on the platform of the Action Alliance (AA) party, gave the advice on Thursday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

He said that voting for parties instead of individual’s ability or capability to deliver good governance was a misinformation and an error that must be changed.

“Political party is not the factor that should determine if an individual can win an election or not; a political party should be irrelevant to winning.

He promised to focus on uniting the state if elected as the governor to promote growth and development.

Audu-Alfa said that indigenes of the state must all strive to portray the state as a united front, regardless of religion, ethnicity and political affiliations.

“My focus is unity, peace and security among others; the insecurity in the state is so much that people are afraid and without peace and unity, there will be no development of any kind.

“Once we have unity, which is power, we will take ownership of the state and development and growth will begin to materialise with speed.

“We would tackle insecurity to its barest minimum. We will pay up salaries and initiate programmes that will enhance self- reliance.

“We will ensure that indigenes are living life and not just surviving life,’’ he said.

He said he would ensure that the youth were employable both in the state and federal levels.

“I will rescue the state from degenerating if elected as governor,’’ he promised.(NAN)
